The central purpose of volunteering is to give back to the community that gave so much to you. At a certain point in your life, ask not what your community can do for you but what you can do for the community. 

 

A community ranges from a small neighborhood to the enitre world. You may think that what you're doing now is only helping a small group of people, but in fact you are bettering our Earth and future.

 

This idea urges the question: how? How is planting seeds and beach clean up going to help 8 billon people? Yes, I agree, the impact of these actins seem vast in comparison to the sheer number of individuals on this planet.

 

However, consider this:

each person, just like you, took a small step, planted a seed, and cleared a portion of a beach.

 

Multiply that by tens, hundred, thousands of passionate students who are motivated to make a difference. Suddenly, those small actions add up to an incredible force for a change, it becomes a movement.

 

    That's the beauty of it. Through the power of action, driven by people like you, we will create a better, more sustainable world for

everyone.
